Ilya loves exploring interesting and tricky math problems with his students, but seeing his students develop empathy, critical thinking, organization and problem-solving skills is his greatest reward as a teacher.
Ilya discovered his love of teaching as a student at Stuyvesant High where he was captain of his math team, and as a senior, had the unusual opportunity to teach a class of freshmen for an entire school year.
