Alex has loved mathematics since he was young and is still enamored with the subject.
He is a fifth-year undergraduate studying math at the University of Oregon.

For the last two years, Alex has taught computer science to undergraduates, and mathematics to
kids in the UO math circle (and more recently, the Summer 2020 Berkeley math circle).

As a student and an instructor, he hopes to propagate the philosophy that questions and
mistakes are okay--that the first step on the road towards success is acceptance of one's
own failure.

Outside of math, Alex can play every orchestral brass instrument (save perhaps the
tuba), he can ride a unicycle, and his new favorite poem is #10 in "The Blue Notebook",
by Daniil Kharms.
